TrashReminders is an independent notification service dedicated to one simple promise: you will never wake up to the garbage truck driving away again.
A few years ago, I moved into a suburban neighborhood with strict HOA guidelines. The rule was clear: trash cans could not go to the curb until 6:00 PM the night before pickup, and had to be pulled back into the garage by 8:00 PM on collection day. If you left them out, you received a \$50 citation. If you forgot entirely, rotting trash sat in the garage for a full week.
The real headaches started when our city introduced alternating bi-weekly recycling (Week A and Week B) and shifting holiday pickup routes. A static phone alarm didn't know when Memorial Day moved trash pickup to Tuesday, or which week our blue recycling cart went out. Every Sunday evening was the same: wandering into the street in socks to check whether the neighbors had put their bins out yet.
I built TrashReminders to solve that problem once and for all. No clunky mobile apps to install, no spammy newsletters, and no guessing. Just a simple, dependable text message sent to your phone at 8:00 PM the night before your carts need to be at the curb.
Keeping schedule data accurate across 12 major metro areas is our core operational focus. Here is how we verify every pickup window:
We ingest publicly published municipal GIS boundary layers, franchise agreements, and solid waste district zone maps to verify the exact hauler and pickup day for your street.
Whenever holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day slide routes by 24 hours, our scheduling engine adjusts your reminder dispatch automatically so you never put cans out on an empty street.
Because TrashReminders is supported by modest subscriber fees ($2.99/mo or $24.99/yr), our sole incentive is keeping your schedule accurate. We never sell your phone number or display third-party ads.
