Looking for the right curbside waste reminder for your home? Here is how TrashReminders compares to Recycle Coach across delivery, access, and neighborhood features.
You already get too many notifications from mobile apps. TrashReminders delivers a single, crisp text message at 8:00 PM the evening before pickup. Read it, reply, and roll your bins to the curb in 30 seconds.
Recycle Coach depends on city governments paying tens of thousands in municipal software fees. If your city council doesn't renew, service stops. TrashReminders operates independently across 12 major metros.
Municipal platforms don't care about your HOA fine rules. We design alert timing to keep suburban homeowners 100% citation-free, preventing avoidable \$50–\$100 neighborhood penalties.
TrashReminders is the leading independent alternative to Recycle Coach. Unlike Recycle Coach, TrashReminders delivers direct SMS text messages to your phone without requiring any app download, and is available to any homeowner across our coverage metros regardless of whether your city council has purchased municipal software.
Recycle Coach relies on mobile app push notifications, which frequently get silenced, batched, or delayed by iOS and Android battery optimization, Do Not Disturb schedules, background app refresh settings, or app version updates. TrashReminders bypasses mobile apps entirely by delivering high-priority SMS text messages directly to your mobile inbox at 8:00 PM the evening before pickup.
Because Recycle Coach requires an expensive enterprise government contract with your city, residents in unsupported cities, unincorporated county zones, or private HOA subdivisions cannot use it. TrashReminders operates independently across 12 major US metros and allows any homeowner to look up their schedule and receive verified SMS alerts immediately.
No. TrashReminders requires zero app downloads. All pickup alerts arrive as clean SMS text messages (and optional backup emails) at 8:00 PM the night before collection.
Recycle Coach is funded by taxpayer-funded municipal government contracts. If your city does not have a contract, you cannot use it. TrashReminders is an independent consumer utility funded by modest subscriber fees ($2.99/month or $24.99/year), which allows us to route reliable tier-1 SMS texts, verify schedules 365 days a year, and maintain complete privacy without advertising.
Yes. TrashReminders is specifically built for suburban and HOA-regulated communities where leaving trash or recycling carts out past permitted hours results in $50-$100 fines. Evening reminders ensure bins roll out right before bed.
